Items included in the STREETSMART Box - 

  • Ethernet cable (For connecting and configuring the device and network modem)
  • 5V 2A Power Source

Other items and tools needed - 

  • 1/2" Drill bit
  • 17mm Wrench
  • Laptop (For configuring the STREETSMART Device)

Required Network access -

  • Outbound access to on ports 80 & 443
  • Access to DNS (Port 53) and NTP service (Port 123)
  • Traffic is outbound only (No inbound access is required)

It is highly recommended to configure the device before installation. 

Before starting, record the device serial number and its location so that you can configure it online.

Steps for setting up your STREETSMART Device

  1. Set your PC/Laptop's IP address to (ex: and connect directly to the STREETSMART unit using the Ethernet cable provided.
  2. Launch a web browser (Chrome) and enter 192.168.10 into the address bar.
  3. Enter the default password (temppwd) and press enter
  4. Expand the 'Network' tab, set the appropriate network settings, and click on 'Apply Changes'. Wait for the settings to apply and a confirmation dialog to appear before continuing.
  5. Connect STREETSMART to your network and reconnect to the configuration page using the sensor's new IP address.
  6. Select the 'Network' tab and click 'Run Network Tests'. Firewall must be open to run network tests.
  7. A dialog box will confirm STREETSMART's connectivity.

Installing STREETSMART at the cabinet

  1. Mark where the antenna will be installed on top of the cabinet.
  2. Verify the area inside the cabinet (beneath the proposed antenna location) is clear of equipment.
  3. Drill a 1/2" hole in the top of the cabinet.
  4. Remove any metal shavings from around the hole and inside the cabinet. 
  5. Remove the nut and washer from the threaded stud of the antenna.
  6. Feed the antenna leads through the mounting hole in the cabinet.
  7. Install the washer and nut
  8. Tighten the nut using a 17mm box wrench. Do not exceed 7 foot-pounds of torque.
  9. Power the STREETSMART device on.
  10. Connect the Wi-Fi antenna lead to the 'Signal' port.
  11. Connect the Ethernet cable to the modem or network switch.
  12. Record the serial number of the device and the cabinet location where it was installed.

Testing Data Collection

  1. Connect directly into the sensor using the Ethernet port.
  2. Log into STREETSMART’s web configuration page.
  3. Expand the ‘Real-Time Data’ section. Within 2-5 minutes, the tab should begin to populate with new data records.
  4. Once STREETSMART is configured and connected to the network, type in the following link into any web browser:{serial_number}.  Replace "{serial_number}" the with your device’s serial number, which can be found on the STREETSMART web configuration page.
