There has been reports of the RTSP streams from a GS2 processor freezing after ~ 1 to 2 minutes when using the VLC media player. After investigation, GRIDSMART has confirmed that this is an issue with the current stable build (3.0.4) of VLC and possibly as early as 3.0.2.
This issue was first reported on VideoLAN’s forums: https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?t=146754
The fix for this has been implemented into the Nightly Builds of VLC as far back as October 22, 2018. However, there is no timeline published as to when the 3.0.5 will be officially released by VideoLAN. We verified the VLC fix using the 3.0.5 nightly build on November 13, 2018.
