This article will walk you through applying the AT&T 3G Sunset patch to any GS2 running firmware v19.3 and later.


Unpatched systems will not be able to connect after the 3G network is turned off.

Process to apply the patch

  1. Download the patch
  2. Launch the GRIDSMART Device Manager
  3. Upload the patch
  4. Apply the patch


Step 1: Download the patch

To download the patch, navigate to https://www.gridsmartcloud.com/#support and click the download link for "AT&T 3G Sunset Patch"

Step 2: Launch the Device Manager

The patch is applied using the GRIDSMART Device Manager's Software Update functionality. The Device Manager is accessible via modern web browsers over your network or over a local connection using the Processor's LAPTOP port. Use https://192.168.150.10:8900 while conected to the LAPTOP port or https://[ip address of GS2]:[port] over your network. There is also a link on the Processor desktop if you are connected via RDP.


Step 3: Upload the patch

Navigate to Settings in the left Menu. In the Settings Control Panel, select Software Update. Now click Browse to navigate to and select the patch .bin file you downloaded in Step 1. Click "Upload Update File." 


Once the file has been uploaded, you will be presented with an information box showing the contents of the patch and that it's a verified GRIDSMART update file.


Step 4: Apply the patch

Now that the file has been uploaded, you're ready to apply the patch. To do so, click "Install Update." 

If for any reason you need to cancel the patch process, you can click "Remove Update File"
